EMPA liability insurance helps protect practitioners and coaches from claims that may arise from providing their covered professional services. EMPA coverage includes both Professional Liability and General Liability, helping protect you from risks associated with your professional work as well as common incidents, like 'slip and fall' accidents.
Coverage can apply across a wide range of energy medicine, holistic, wellness, bodywork, movement, coaching, and related practices, provided the services fall within the scope of the policy. Because many practitioners integrate several approaches, coverage is based on what you actually do in your practice—not simply what you call your modality.
Yes. Covered energy medicine, holistic and coaching services can be provided virtually or remotely, including sessions conducted by video or phone. The same coverage requirements and scope of practice apply whether you work with clients online or in person.
EMPA liability insurance does not cover services or activities that fall outside the scope of the policy, including specifically excluded activities. Examples may include medical diagnosis or treatment, psychotherapy or clinical counseling, and other services requiring professional licensure when they are not part of the covered practice.
Remember, coverage is determined by what you do—not simply what you call it. An excluded activity does not become covered simply because it is incorporated into an otherwise-covered energy medicine, holistic practice or coaching service.
Yes. Many practitioners combine multiple energy medicine, holistic, coaching and wellness modalities within their practice. You can have more than one covered service or modality under the same policy, provided each falls within the scope of coverage and is appropriate for your Membership Protection Level.
You do not need a separate policy for each covered modality.
Coverage includes a broad range of energy medicine, holistic, bodywork, movement, mindfulness, coaching, and wellness practices. This may include specific modalities and services as well as those that fall within broader covered categories.
Because practitioners often blend multiple approaches, your exact modality does not always need to be listed by name. What matters is that the services you provide fall within the scope of a covered practice or category.
Start by reviewing our covered services and modalities. If your exact modality isn’t listed, it may still fall within a broader covered category.
If you’re unsure, contact us with a brief description of what you actually do with clients and your training in those services. We can help determine whether your practice falls within the scope of coverage.
Whether you work with clients online, in person, individually, or in groups, EMPA makes it easy to find the right coverage designed for energy medicine, holistic, wellness practitioners and coaches.
